Our Governance: Terms of Reference & Stakeholder Engagement Map

Governance

RJCs are to operate their own entity and against outcomes from community consultation. The Department has oversight for the RJC program and responsibility for administration of the program.

The organisation funded to deliver the RJC project has responsibility for ownership and delivery of the Services Agreement, ensuring compliance with the Agreement and performance against project deliverables and miles

tones.

The RJC Project Manager is responsible for coordinating the project including meeting milestones and deliverables, on behalf of the funded organisation.

Mount Isa RJC objective

The Mount Isa RJC develops solutions to local skilling and workforce needs. RJCs are defined as being driven by locals, for locals, with their activity to focus on local skilling and workforce solutions. Through identification of local skilling and workforce challenges, the RJC will not only identify but deliver local initiatives through the RJC Action Plan to meet local needs. The RJC will leverage the Good People. Good Jobs: Queensland Workforce Strategy 2022 – 2032.

Specifically, the Mount Isa RJC will provide:

Tailored Solutions: Develop Mount Isa’s RJC Annual Action Plan and implementation of tailored solutions that address specific barriers and capitalise on opportunities identified within each regional community, fostering more targeted and effective interventions.

Enhanced Collaboration: Stronger partnerships and collaboration among regional communities, industry stakeholders, and government entities, leading to more consistent and coordinated efforts in identifying and addressing local skills development, workforce participation, and business growth.

Our United Voices

The Mount Isa Regional Jobs Committee (RJC) brings together a diverse network of stakeholders spanning community, community organisations, government at all levels, industry, education and training providers, employment services, economic development agencies, and the resources and energy sectors. This broad engagement ensures all voices are included—from grassroots health and social services to large-scale employers and infrastructure partners.

At the heart of this network is a commitment to collective collaboration, coordinated by the RJC. Guided by a common agenda and shared measurement, stakeholders engage in mutually reinforcing activities that address local workforce priorities and economic challenges. Ongoing communication strengthens relationships and drives alignment across sectors.

The RJC serves as the backbone organisation—convening, facilitating and supporting this integrated approach. Together, we are building a place-based, community-informed model that is strategic, inclusive and designed for long-term regional impact.
