Faisal Khan
Chief Executive Officer
Faisal Khan is the Chief Executive Officer of North West Queensland Indigenous Community Social Services Ltd, providing senior executive leadership across community and social services programs. His role encompasses organisational governance, strategic planning, financial oversight, contract and funding management, workforce development, compliance, risk and safeguarding, and engagement with government agencies, community partners and First Nations leaders.
Faisal brings extensive experience in executive and senior management roles across the community services, not-for-profit and human services sectors. He has led complex, government-funded programs, overseen organisational growth, and strengthened governance, HR, WHS, safeguarding and quality assurance systems. His work has included developing and delivering new service models, supporting boards through strategic planning, and translating policy intent into effective operational outcomes.
A key strength of Faisal’s leadership is his experience working closely with First Nations communities to embed cultural governance and community-led approaches into service design and delivery. He is particularly focused on building culturally safe, employer-ready pathways that support workforce participation, retention and long-term economic outcomes, rather than short-term or transactional employment models.
Faisal holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting, and brings a strong balance of financial, governance and workforce expertise to the Regional Jobs Committee, supporting alignment between training, employment services and real job opportunities across the region.
