Kerry Parker is a Senior Project Officer with the Department of Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Multiculturalism, supporting communities across Dajarra, Camooweal, Boulia, Urandangi and Mount Isa. Her role focuses on working with local stakeholders to support Closing the Gap priorities across multiple sectors, including employment, education and community development.
Kerry brings over 20 years of experience in government, having commenced her career as a youth worker with the Department of Youth Justice in 2005. She has progressed through a range of frontline and leadership roles and is currently an AO6, with experience acting in management positions within her department. Her career progression reflects a strong commitment to community service, leadership development and creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
She holds a Diploma of Leadership and Governance, which she completed to strengthen her leadership capability and support her goal of contributing at a senior level within her home community. Kerry is known for her deep knowledge of local communities, her ability to connect people with services, and her open, solutions-focused approach to addressing complex challenges.
Kerry brings a strong lived-experience perspective, cultural understanding and community-first mindset to the Regional Jobs Committee, supporting initiatives that empower individuals, strengthen families and create positive, sustainable outcomes across the Mount Isa region.
