Campus Manager Mount Isa

Luella Kay is the Campus Manager for TAFE Queensland – North West, based at the Mount Isa Campus. She leads day-to-day campus operations, ensuring a safe, compliant and high-performing training environment that supports quality education and workforce outcomes. Her responsibilities include facilities and infrastructure coordination, safety and risk management, ICT and equipment readiness, and oversight of operational service delivery.

Luella works closely with educators, corporate support teams, contractors and regional stakeholders to strengthen local training capability and ensure campus resources, delivery models and learning environments align with regional workforce and industry needs. She contributes to strategic planning and project implementation that enhances student experience, supports educator effectiveness, and strengthens pathways from training into employment.

With over 22 years’ experience across employment services and education and training in North Queensland, Luella brings deep regional knowledge and strong partnerships across industry, government and community sectors. Her strengths include strategic collaboration, workforce development and supporting underrepresented groups to access training, re-enter the workforce and build sustainable careers.

Luella brings a practical, community-focused perspective to the Regional Jobs Committee, supporting workforce and skilling initiatives that respond to local labour market needs and contribute to long-term economic and social outcomes for the region.
