Who We Are
The Mount Isa Regional Jobs Committee (RJC) is a locally driven initiative focused on creating real, lasting change for our workforce. Backed by the Mount Isa City Council (MICC) and the Queensland Government, we’re here to connect people, industry and training opportunities—building a stronger future for our region.
We listen to our community. We understand our local challenges. And we work together to deliver smart, practical solutions that improve skills, boost employment and support economic growth.
Our Mission
To identify workforce challenges in the Mount Isa Local Government Area (LGA) and deliver targeted, local solutions that improve training, skilling and job outcomes—now and into the future.
Our Values
We are guided by values that reflect our commitment to community, progress and impact:
Locals First – We’re built by the region, for the region.
Inclusive & Accessible – Everyone deserves a seat and voice at the table.
Collaborative – Strong partnerships drive strong outcomes.
Future-Focused – We plan for tomorrow, not just today.
Impact-Driven – Real actions, real results.
Our Story
Established in 2024, the Mount Isa RJC was formed in response to the region’s unique workforce needs. Our 18-month project (running through to June 2025) is led by MICC in partnership with the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET). We work hand-in-hand with local industries, businesses, education and training providers, government and community groups to identify what’s needed—and take action.
