Nicole Leo

Nicole Leo is the Acting Regional Director for the Department of Trade, Employment and Training North Queensland, bringing more than 35 years of experience across government, with a strong focus on industrial relations, employment and training.

Originally from Rockhampton, Nicole has developed extensive regional knowledge and strong stakeholder networks throughout her career. She began working within the North Queensland region in September 2025 in a part-time capacity before transitioning to a full-time role in March 2026. 

Nicole commenced with the Department of Trade, Employment and Training in 1998 and held a range of leadership and operational roles. Her experience include supervising and managing service delivery teams and support apprentices and trainees, employers, community-based organisation, training providers and industry stakeholders.
