Kim Hiddink is the General Manager of Ibis Styles Mount Isa and Giuseppe’s Restaurant, where she oversees daily operations, leads workforce and team performance, and ensures high-quality guest experiences across both the hotel and restaurant. Her responsibilities include staffing, budgeting, operational strategy, service improvement and revenue growth.
Kim began her career in hospitality at the age of 14 in the Netherlands, working in frontline roles while completing her studies. Following the completion of her Bachelor degree in Tourism Management, she managed a holiday park in France before relocating to Australia. Her Australian experience spans cafés, restaurants and hotels across Melbourne, regional Victoria and Cairns, progressing through roles including waitress, section manager, trainer, Duty Manager and Front Office Manager, before her appointment as General Manager at Ibis Styles Mount Isa.
This diverse career pathway has given Kim a strong, hands-on understanding of the hospitality and tourism sector, from frontline service through to senior leadership. She brings strengths in organisational leadership, adaptability and workforce development, with experience leading diverse teams across different cultural and operational environments.
Kim is passionate about addressing workforce challenges within tourism and hospitality, including skills shortages and retention, and is committed to creating practical pathways that allow people to build meaningful, sustainable careers. Through her role on the RJC, she aims to support initiatives that attract and retain skilled staff, promote on-the-job learning, and strengthen the local tourism workforce to meet current and future regional demand.
